A Historic First For Our Organization
I’d like to introduce everyone to STSCS(SS) Josh Salazar. He is currently serving as the Weapons DEPT and SONAR LCPO on board The Mighty Warship USS SOUTH DAKOTA SSN-790 or Battleship X with CDR Cuddy Brown and The Gunslingers!
Senior Salazar is the first Sailor to complete the Ring of Fire and earn the Four Patches of the Acoustic Apocalypse detailed below.
2020: Earned the XMAN Patch on board USS OHIO SSGN-726
2022: Earned the SONS OF SONAR Patch as SONAR LCPO at TTF Bangor
2024: Earned the FORCE ACINT SME Patch as Weapons DEPT and SONAR LCPO on board USS HYMAN G. RICKOVER SSN-795 ( can only be earned at sea doing cool stuff)
2025: Earned the SECRET SQUIRREL Patch as Weapons DEPT and SONAR LCPO on board USS SOUTH DAKOTA SSN-790.
Notice the theme. Senior Salazar is a Sailor that perfects his craft and leads AT SEA!
In recognition of this great achievement, we presented him with his FORCE ACINT SME Jacket! He is the only Sailor with this.
He is also soon to be Chief Warrant Officer Salazar of the Acoustic Warrant Officer Designation.
